Claims
Claims are fundamentally what we will all buy Insurance for.
- At UK Special Risks we appreciate this and value as well put a lot of effort into our claims service for our clients.
- As the broker we are confident enough to let our client speak to their Insurer directly in order to start the claims process, and if all goes as desired we are quite happy to remain in the background and let the Insurer provide the service for which they are being paid. We only recommend cover from Insurer’s whom we have the trust and confidence in to be able to handle a claim for our client’s.
- There will inevitably be instances where claims arise, which are not covered under a policy or where negotiation is required. In these circumstances we are only too happy to step in and ensure that our client is given the protection which they paid for through placing their Insurance with us.
- When claims are not going as the policyholder would hope and where advice is required we are experts at helping to get matters resolved to everyone’s overall satisfaction.
- We are on hand to provide advice and assistance.
- We have a claims tracking procedure to ensure that claims for our clients are chased where required and generally pushed in the right direction.
- We are happy on larger claims to be present at meetings with Loss Adjusters and ensure that our client is not confronted with Insurance Company jargon, and left to try and figure it out for themselves.
- When it matters most you can rely on and expect our support and assistance. Our dedicated claims team will explain how to present your claim, advise the relevant documentation which will be required by Insurers and negotiate and chase settlement.
In essence we have a dedicated claims department and we have the faith in both the Insurer’s we recommend and our ability to advise our client’s correctly in order to ensure that claims go as smoothly as possible, and that any unforeseen loss has the absolute minimum possible impact on the business we are protecting.
Our Claims department is headed up by Karen Samways who would be only to happy to speak with both existing and potential clients regarding their claims matters.

Karen Samways
Karen joined UK Special Risks in 2008 and with a strong sales background matched with a keen attention to detail she is both reliable and diligent. She has developed as a Fleet Account Handler (administering fleet changes) as well as our in house Claims Manager. She has a strong knowledge of our Kitchen and Bathroom Industry scheme.
